auditions and other less seemly methods of breaking into showbiz. Just
start a YouTube channel — your odds are probably just as good. And they’re fast improving.
Hollywood is finally starting to figure out what to do with the stars
of social media. And its latest deal shows you don’t need a zillion
followers or subscribers to make the leap.
The latest YouTuber to ink a development deal is Paige McKenzie, who
plays a teen living in a Portland, Oregon paranormal cesspool of a home
in the web series The Haunting of Sunshine Girl. The Weinstein
Co. announced Thursday that it signed McKenzie to write YA books based
on the channel, with a feature film adaptation to follow. Read the rest here
